Description
The development of satisfactory conversational user interfaces (CUIs) for the masses is a pretty new research field as it follows the rise of voice assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, etc. Nevertheless, the research done in this field seems not to be very target-group-oriented. Especially the target group of elderly people is underrepresented at the moment, although the most natural interaction principle of using your voice is actually predestined to be used by elderly, i.e. within social assistance robots as well as static voice assistants. This, Mrs. Haustein investigated within her Bachelor’s Thesis principles of good communication between voice assistants (whether they are integrated within a robot or not) and their elder users.
